Styles stated that he’d love to step into the ring with Punk.

It has been just over four months since CM Punk made his return to WWE and appeared for the company for the first time since 2014. Going into WrestleMania weekend, Punk will be on commentary on night two of the event to call the World Heavyweight Title bout between Drew McIntyre and the champion Seth Rollins

In Philadelphia, WWE is presenting their ‘WWE World’ festivities/convention and there was a recording of The Ringer Wrestling Show that took place. Joining the show was A.J. Styles and he was asked about Punk’s comeback.

He stated that he’s close with people in AEW and when Punk returned to WWE, he figured there would be an issue. Styles added that it’s been the complete opposite of that from his point of view and he’d love to tear the house down with Punk in the ring.

I mean, if you know anything about A.J. Styles and CM Punk, you would know that we really don’t care for each other. But if you want me to ruin everything that you think you know, I can… Past performance predicts future behavior. Some over at AEW are my best friends, love ‘em, trust ‘em, know ‘em and I was expecting a problem when he came here and I was wrong. The guy looks like he’s happy to be here. He looks like a guy that I’d wanna step in the ring with and tear the house down with him.

In 2020, there was a back-and-forth between Punk and Styles after Punk called him out for staying silent about racial issues. To read more, click here.
