Saito’s in-ring career is over.

Pro Wrestling NOAH hosted an event on 11/17 that was centered around Akitoshi Saito’s final match. It took place at Dolphins Arena in Nagoya, Japan.

Saito’s opponent was Naomichi Marufuji.

While on his way to the ring, Saito had the robe of the late Mitsuharu Misawa wrapped around his arm. Saito was a part of Misawa’s final match in 2009. Saito gave Misawa a back suplex that he did not get up from. Misawa was taken to a hospital and later that night, he passed.

Circling back to the match against Marufuji, Saito was on the losing end of the bout. He spoke to the audience in attendance afterwards and looked up to the sky before receiving flowers and exiting the ring.

Saito wrapped up a 33-year in-ring career.
