Gisele Shaw recently discussed her exit from TNA Wrestling.

Shaw, a multi-year TNA Wrestling talent, parted ways with the promotion late last year after being a fixture in the product since early 2022.

Shaw described the departure from TNA as a move that came due to the promotion not knowing how to utilize her. Here’s her explanation from a recent interview with Ring The Belle.

“Things in wrestling change,” Shaw said. “I feel like we weren’t really aligning, or maybe they didn’t have [ideas] creative-wise. It felt like it went back to they don’t know what to do with me. And I was like, man, I’ve been here for three years and I really, really tried to stick it out. Like I said, things in wrestling change all the time, and sometimes that’s my route. It is what it is.”

Shaw mentioned earlier in the interview that she didn’t expect her exit from TNA to be such a hot topic once the news broke.

“I was very quiet with it and didn’t want it to be a thing,” she said. “I was literally having tea in the morning, and then next thing you know, my phone’s like dinging. I’m like ‘What’s happening?’ People are reaching out to me and are like ‘Hope you’re okay.’ Like ‘What’s happening?’ I didn’t want it to be a big thing, but it is what it is.”

Since leaving TNA Wrestling, Shaw has worked a few matches on the independent scene. She appeared as part of a doubleheader at Maple Leaf Pro in October, and most recently appeared at Freelance Wrestling’s “Prelude” card in December.
