Takeshita remains a double champion.

The second championship match of the night at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka was Konosuke Takeshita defending his NEVER Openweight Title against Boltin Oleg.

Oleg was not able to overcome Takeshita, as the reigning AEW International and NEVER Openweight Champion locked him in a guillotine choke and then followed up with a Spinning Falcon Arrow to secure the win.

After the bout, TMDK’s Ryohei Oiwa made his way to the ring and set his sights on Takeshita’s NEVER Openweight Title.

Takeshita is under contract to AEW, DDT and New Japan. He signed a deal with NJPW in January. Takeshita is set to head to Australia for AEW Grand Slam on February 15th. He’ll be tagging with Kyle Fletcher to take on Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay.
