Several weeks have passed since the 2025 WWE women’s Royal Rumble match took place. Among the moments that occurred during the bout was Nikki Bella and Roxanne Perez crossing paths. There’s a throwback video on social media of a teenage Roxanne speaking to Bella about her aspirations to become a pro wrestler.
As Perez guest appeared on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, she reflected on the in-ring moment with Nikki.
So many feels (during my moment with Nikki Bella in women’s Royal Rumble). In that video (of younger me & Nikki) that you’re talking about, I remember Nikki Bella saying, ‘Well, in five years, I’m gonna need a tag partner’ and I said, ‘Well, I’d rather wrestle you,’ and she was like, ‘Okay.’ So, 10 years later, I’m in the ring with Nikki Bella and almost slapped her. I got the taste slapped out of my mouth but, regardless, to have that moment with her was insane. There’s just so many moments that keep happening that I’m just like, wait, is this real? Yeah, it’s real. It’s just everything that I’ve ever dreamt of as a kid and if I could go back and tell my younger self that all of this is actually happening, she would freak out.
Coming up for Perez is NXT Vengeance Day where she’ll have the chance to become a three-time NXT Women’s Champion.
She’ll be in a Fatal 4-Way against Cora Jade, Bayley and the reigning champion Giulia.
