Tyler Breeze is not winding down his wrestling career at all.
The former NXT Tag Team Champion recently declared that his in-ring career is “very much alive” and that it’s “a matter of time” before his next major move in the scene.
After working as many as 180 matches a year for WWE during his heyday, Breeze hasn’t been seen as much since he departed the promotion’s roster in 2021. He recently explained to Monopoly Promotions that he used the time to take a break and enjoy other parts of his life.
“It’s funny because sometimes I feel very retired, and then other times I’m like, ‘You know what? I’m not,'” Breeze explained in a recent interview. “It’s just a matter of timing for certain things. I stopped wrestling full-time in 2021. I was just enjoying life a little bit. I had a kid, so I was just enjoying being a dad, being a husband.”
After spending a year out of the ring, Breeze made his return at a Tennessee-based indie card in 2023. He has appeared at a dozen more events over the past two years, working in promotions like GCW, DPW and Prestige. The matches have been a way for Breeze to get re-adjusted as he plots his next move as a wrestler, he said.
“[I’ve been] branching back out, getting in on the indies a little bit; it’s still very much alive. So, yeah. I’m not done. Where it comes out, where you see me next, is kind of wait to be seen. But just a matter of timing.”
Breeze has made many appearances alongside former WWE tag partner JDC (formerly known as Fandango) over the past year. He last worked a match alongside him at a card in Manchester, England, in February.
