Sabin also spoke about the TNA-WWE partnership.

The duo of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are one-time holders of the WWE Tag Team Championships in their five months with the company. They’ll have another shot at the titles as they bested #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) in a number one contender’s match.

With WrestleMania 41 being a week away, Sabin said it’d be a ‘dream come true’ to compete at the show. He said the following during a chat with Sebastian Hackl of WWE Deutschland:

A dream come true. That’s what it sounds like. One of the first pay-per-views I ever saw was WrestleMania IX and that took place at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas, which is kind of funny because WrestleMania’s in Vegas this year too and so, which is kind of cool… Of course, it would be a dream come true to be on WrestleMania.

Sabin spent over a decade of his career with TNA/IMPACT Wrestling and is a three-time holder of the company’s Tag Titles with Shelley. Sabin expressed his happiness about the partnership between TNA and WWE.

Well, I think it’s great (WWE-TNA partnership). Obviously, I have a long history with TNA and just to see them working with WWE, it’s providing so many opportunities to people that have worked at TNA for a long time and just — it’s another stepping stone. It’s another chance for them to have an opportunity to make it to the next level which is WWE. I mean, I think, most people — not everyone but most people’s goal is to make it to the WWE so I think that’s just another avenue that wrestlers can take. They don’t have to go through NXT now. They can possibly go through TNA so I think that’s very, very cool. More opportunities, the better.

The Motor City Machine Guns are now set to challenge The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
