Owens weighs in on the discussion about the night one WrestleMania main event.

There is a new episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet with Kevin Owens as the featured guest. The interview was recorded prior to Owens revealing that he’ll be stepping away from the ring to undergo neck surgery and as a result, his match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 is shelved.

During the conversation, Owens commented on both of his respective WrestleMania main events taking place on night one of the two-night show. He addressed the conversations that take place about the night one main event not being the true main event. Owens said now that CM Punk is headlining night one, people are saying it is the main event.

I’m very lucky to have been a part of it (Steve Austin’s return match). To this day, the craziest thing that I’ll ever have done in my career and I don’t think anything will top it. Even me and Sami (Zayn) winning the tag titles at WrestleMania was unbelievable, in the main event. Which is great now because you know, WrestleMania main event night one, there’s a lot of people that argue it’s not really the main event. But now that (CM) Punk’s in it this year, everyone says it is the main event, because you don’t want to take that away from him so now it finally validates that yeah, we’ve main evented WrestleMania. So, anyway, winning the titles at WrestleMania together was insane.

Punk is going to headline WWE’s biggest show of their calendar year in a Triple Threat involving Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Night two of the show will be main evented by John Cena challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
