John Cena won his 17th World Championship after beating Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday.
The match got off to a slow start as both competitors played to the crowd, who seemed undecided about who to back at the beginning.
Cena played the heel with complaints to the ref, hitting stomps and using the ropes to break holds.
The momentum of the match swung back and forth, as did the crowd reaction.
Deeper into the match, an Attitude Adjustment followed soon after by an Avalanche AA could only get a two-count.
Soon after, a top rope Cody Cutter could only yield a nearfall.
Cena then hit an AA into an STFU. Cody eventually escaped, knocking Cena into the referee. Rhodes went for the pin but referee Chad Patton was out of it.
In a big nearfall, Cena then hit Rhodes into an exposed turnbuckle but Cody kicked out.
At this point, Travis Scott made his way to the ring as Cena laughed.
Cody hit the CrossRhodes but as he went for the pin, Travis Scott, pulled the ref to the floor.
Scott then entered the ring but only to take a CrossRhodes.
With the referee again recovering outside the ring, Cena then went for a belt shot. Cody grabbed the belt but would not use it. This allowed Cena to hit a low blow, deliver the belt shot and get the pin for the title change.
