Pat McAfee saves Michael Cole from attack by GUNTHER, GUNTHER chokes out McAfee on WWE Raw

GUNTHER takes aim at Michael Cole and Pat McAfee.

When Monday Night Raw returned from commercial break, GUNTHER was confronting Michael Cole and Pat McAfee at the announce desk. Cole made a comment about GUNTHER tapping out to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41 and GUNTHER knocked Cole’s headset off his head.

He then shoved McAfee. GUNTHER grabbed a hold of Cole and put him in a sleeper hold and McAfee ran over to save him. The two sides were split apart by security, producers, referees and General Manager Adam Pearce. While McAfee had his back turned, GUNTHER ran up behind him and put him in a sleeper hold. He choked McAfee out.

Members of The Pat McAfee Show jumped the barricade in an attempt to save Pat but they were held back by those at ringside. GUNTHER let him go and then McAfee was helped to the back.

After the dust settled, Joe Tessitore made his way to the commentary desk to fill in for Cole and McAfee. Backstage, Adam Pearce told Cole to take the rest of the night off. Cole said Pearce has to do something about GUNTHER, but he’s not letting a ‘bully’ stop him from doing his job. Cole returned to ringside to call the action alongside Tessitore.
