Mark Briscoe, Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey & Kenny Omega vs. Ricochet, The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) & Kazuchika Okada
As promoted, this is the first time Kenny Omega & Kazuchika Okada have shared a ring in AEW and the first time since New Year’s Dash 2023. Omega & Okada face off before the bell rings, but Okada tags out to Nicholas Jackson as soon as it does. Commentary mentions how Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey have been going by ‘Jet Speed’. Omega & Ricochet go at it, as Matthew Jackson doesn’t realize he was attacking Ricochet’s arm instead. A bit of bald comedy before everybody runs in and starts attacking Ricochet in the corner until Jet Speed start double-teaming Ricochet. All eight men enter the ring and have a stand-off before going at it, with the babyfaces in control as we go to commercial.
When we come back, Matthew & Ricochet are both doing suplexes before Ricochet goes and poses with Matthew’s hair to cover his head, which only increases the bald chants. Okada tries a brainbuster spot, but it gets stopped before all eight men enter again and call for brainbusters that all get reversed into suplexes before all the face dive to them on the outside. Knight follows with a hurricanrana in the corner to Nicholas, for a two-count. Omega screams for Okada to enter the ring, as he’s been avoiding him the whole match. Eventually, Okada & Nicholas hold Omega’s leg as Matthew takes him out with a superkick before both Ricochet & Nicholas hit splashes from in and out of the ring to Bailey & Omega as we go to our second commercial.
We return as the action has only picked up even more, with Mark Briscoe going for the Jay Driller on Okada, which he reverses into a neckbreaker. Everybody gets taken out until it’s finally just Omega & Okada going at it. Okada escapes from the One-Winged Angel, but gets hit with a Snap Dragon instead. Omega tries the V-Trigger, but Okada stops him with a dropkick as everybody else runs into the ring at this point. Nicholas & Ricochet both jump off the top rope and hit dropkicks as Okada & Matthew hit Tombstones, as Okada gets a two on Briscoe. Briscoe dodges a Rainmaker and hits the Jay Driller on Okada, but Ricochet is there to break up the count. We get some wild dives to the outside, including the Terminator dive from Omega. Ricochet knocks Briscoe down from a Froggy Bow attempt, as Okada quickly follows with the Rainmaker to pick up the win. (Sii-note: This match was a pure PWG love letter)
Winners: Kazuchika Okada, Ricochet & The Young Bucks (Nicholas Jackson & Matthew Jackson) by pinfall at 26:25
They Really Do Hurt People
We see The Hurt Syndicate walking through the back as we see a group of guys chanting ‘We hurt people’. MVP says it’s fun to sing it, but even more fun to do it, as they then attack all of them. MVP asks Bobby Lashley to address the elephant in the room, as Shelton Benjamin says this isn’t about MJF, it’s about trusting MVP. MVP says MJF can be beneficial to them and that he has never let them down. If MJF screws them over, they will hurt him like he’s never been hurt before.
The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. Nick Comoroto, Rhett Titus & Myles Hawkins
They mention how Nick Comoroto has come back from an injury, despite reports of his contract not being renewed. The Opps start by attacking Rhett Titus in the corner, before Katsuyori Shibata requests for Comoroto to enter as they exchange chops before Shibata knocks him down with a kick, as he tags out to Myles Hawkins. Powerhouse Hobbs has his turn on Hawkins next and takes him down with a big power slam, followed by clotheslines in the corner before hitting a spinebuster to pick up the pin. (Sii-note: This was Comoroto’s first match back since August 2024, and he is going back to his original look.)
Winners: The Opps (Powerhouse Hobbs, Samoa Joe & Katsuyori Shibata) by pinfall at 3:04
As soon as the match ends, the Death Riders enter and attack The Opps, with Jon Moxley attacking his upcoming challenger, Samoa Joe, in the ring. Joe fights back and starts brawling with Moxley towards the stage as he chokes him out with the Coquina Clutch. Joe is too late to run back into the ring as Claudio Castagnoli puts Shibata onto the chair with the Neutralizer. Joe gets on the mic and says that Moxley tries to act like a boss but when they start throwing hands he acts like a little bitch. Joe mentions how Moxley doesn’t want a one-on-one match, but he’s already made his request, and if he’s going to fight him for the AEW World Championship, then they can do it inside a steel cage.
Mone Addresses Hayter
Renee Paquette is in the back conducting a sit-down interview with Mercedes Mone. Mercedes talks about her global mission, now making her a global champion. Renee brings up how she can win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and go on to challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In. Mercedes says she doesn’t underestimate Jamie Hayter and talks about her undefeated record, as Renee says her 25-0 singles record is impressive. Mercedes says she’s the best, the greatest, and 4-belt Mone, and the wrestling world runs on her time. She gives props to Hayter, as she’s great and scrappy and reminds her of herself, except for her cartoon Scooby-Doo style.
“He Accepts”
After the break, Renee is with The Patriarchy and asks Nick Wayne how it feels representing AEW for the Best of the Super Juniors as he’s getting ready to leave for it. Christian Cage interrupts him, but Jay Lethal interrupts him and says Wayne still has a lot to prove and suggests a match between himself and Wayne. Wayne says he’s not prepared to wrestle and wants to focus on BOSJ, but Christian accepts on his behalf. Christian says if Wayne wants to be a champion to get his head in the game.
AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match: Toni Storm (w/ Luther) vs. Miyu Yamashita
They show a video package for Miyu Yamashita before the match, showing highlights of her. The ‘Daddy Cool’ like chants have migrated from the WWE European shows to Toni Storm here. Right away, Storm takes Miyu down with a Thesz Press while working on her back. Miyu comes back with kicks, but gets tripped up on the apron. Storm misses a hip attack, as Miyu starts kicking away at it before Luther gets involved to make sure she’s ok, and ends up getting attacked by Miyu himself. Miyu goes back to literally kicking Storm’s ass as we head to commercial.
We return with them exchanging forearms, before Storm tries the hip attack but gets stopped with the skull kick. Miyu falls herself, before crawling over, only getting a two-count. Miyu stays in control, hitting a round kick, but Storm dodges her and hits a German Suplex before finally hitting the hip attack in the corner after multiple attempts. Storm follows with the Storm Zero to pick up the pin and the win. (Sii-note: This was Miyu’s first match in AEW since 2022, where she challenged Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship, after winning an Eliminator match over Rosa in TJPW.)
Winner: Toni Storm by pinfall at 9:23
As soon as the match is over, Mercedes Mone makes her way out to the stage. Mercedes says that after she beats Jamie Hayter, she’s coming for what she deserves in the AEW Women’s World Championship. Hayter makes her way out and starts attacking Mercedes, who escapes and runs away to the back.
We go to The Don Callis Family in the back as Don Callis says that Konosuke Takeshita & Josh Alexander made history last week by having one of the best tag team matches he’s ever seen, putting down Will Ospreay & Brody King. He wants to make history again, as Kyle Fletcher is going to dismantle Adam Page and then go to Double or Nothing, where he will put to rest the legend of Will Ospreay. Fletcher says that after he beats Ospreay, he goes to All In and takes the AEW World Championship.
All Elite Thumb Wrestling
The Hurt Syndicate makes their way to the ring as MVP says they have been discussing adding a fourth member to their ranks, and in order to accept one, he has to get three thumbs up. They say they will try this one more time before he invites MJF to the ring. MJF addresses all three members, including calling Bobby Lashley ‘Bob,’ which gets a Bob chant from the crowd. MVP cuts it off and puts his thumb up. Shelton Benjamin puts his thumb up as well. Lashley teases it for a while before eventually putting the thumbs down. MJF says he’s sick of Lashley’s shit and asks exactly what would intrigue him and suggests Rogaine before calling him a ‘big bald son of a bitch’. Lashley pushes MJF up against the corner and says if MJF wants to impress him, to go hurt somebody as they hurt people, and MJF agrees.
We get a video package narrated by Stokely Hathaway saying he’s managing FTR because he ‘gets things done’ and anyone who gets in their way will get stopped, naming people including Tony Schiavone & The Rock N Roll Express.
AEW World Television Championship: Nick Wayne (c) (w/ Christian Cage, Mother Wayne & Kip Sabian) vs. Jay Lethal
Jay Lethal starts by sending Nick Wayne to the outside, where he goes and regroups with Christian Cage. Once he enters, they start trading chops as the crowd chants ‘Nick’s mom’. They start trading arm drags, before Lethal hits a hip toss and a dropkick, before diving to Wayne on the outside, but he comes right back with a hurricanrana. Wayne sends Lethal into the steel steps as we head to commercial.
We return, as Lethal is on the top rope for an elbow drop attempt, but Fletcher stops him, just for Lethal to knock him down and connect with it, as Wayen turns it into a crucifix pin for a two. They go back and forth until Wayne sends Lethal head-first into the corner, followed by a roundhouse kick and Fisherman’s Buster to pick up the pin and the win.
Winner: Nick Wayne by pinfall at 9:17, to retain
Christian takes the title from Wayne after, as commentary questions why he would do that, just for Christian to place it around Wayne’s waist as The Patriarchy gives Wayne the ring.
Excalibur announces that the AEW World Championship Match between Jon Moxley & Samoa Joe at Beach Break in two weeks is officially now a steel cage match.
Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semi-Final Match: Kyle Fletcher vs. Adam Page
Don Callis goes and joins commentary for this match. As soon as the match starts, Adam Page goes after Kyle Fletcher, sending him to the outside. Fletcher enters and pretends to ride Page like a horse, which gets him even angrier. As Page sets up for the Buckshot Lariat, Fletcher escapes to the outside just to get sent over the barricade and into the timekeeper’s table with a clothesline, sending us to break.
When we return, we see that Fletcher’s lower back is all bloody, possibly from being sent into the barricade during the break. They run the ropes as Page sends Fletcher down hard with a big clothesline. Page sends Fletcher to the outside with a lariat and goes for a top rope moonsault, but Fletcher stops and hits a brainbuster onto the apron. They get on the barricade, where Page sends Fletcher down face-first before hitting a moonsault into a Tombstone on the floor as we go to our second break.
We come back, as Page hits a Liger Bomb for two as there’s all types of blood from both men now. They start battling on the apron, as Fletcher stops a Buckshot Lariat attempt before he ends up hitting the Dead Eye. Page follows with the top rope moonsault and goes for the Buckshot Lariat, but Fletcher shoves the referee, hits a low blow and brainbuster, as Page kicks out at two. Fletcher places Page on the top rope, as Page lariats Fletcher down, followed by the Buckshot Lariat to pick up the pin and the win.
Winner: Adam Page by pinfall at 23:25, to advance
