Trick Williams will defend the TNA Heavyweight Championship next week.
On Tuesday’s edition of NXT, Trick Williams appeared with the championship after beating Joe Hendry at Battleground on Sunday. The new champ was confronted by Mike Santana, who stated he would be the one to take the title back.
On-screen authority Santino Marella appeared on the screen and stated that Williams would be a fighting champion and would defend the title “next week” against Santana in his first title defense.

After rebuffing a handshake, Williams attempted to attack Santana but was thwarted and sent out of the ring by the TNA performer.
Santana had his first match on NXT programming earlier in the show, where he pinned Tavion Heights after hitting Spin the Block.
