It’s still two-belt Ruca.
Sol Ruca recently defended her WWE Women’s Speed Championship for the first time, overcoming American Made’s Ivy Nile via pinfall. The match, which was taped at Smackdown last weekend, aired for the first time on Wednesday afternoon via social media.

Ruca secured a victory in the final moments of a five-minute time limit bout, avoiding a move in the corner from Nile and then hitting her Sol Snatcher finisher to win the bout with just six seconds to spare.
Due to a champion’s advantage, a time limit draw would’ve kept the belt in Sol’s possession, so there was stronger pressure on Nile in the closing moments of the match to score a finish. Former champ Candica LeRae showed that the time limit could be utilized by a defending champ, retaining her belt twice by going the distance earlier this year.
Along with her Speed title, Ruca is also currently the NXT Women’s North American Champion. She earned both belts last month, first defeating Candice LeRae for the Speed championship, then winning a ladder match at NXT Stand & Deliver to claim yet another title.
Nile worked her way through a four-woman tournament to earn a title shot against Ruca on this week’s episode. In recent weeks, she got past Maxxine Dupri and NXT’s Kelani Jordan to set up a match for the belt.
A men’s bracket will play out in the coming weeks as part of WWE Speed, the promotion’s web series which sees matchups play out with quick time limits. Here’s the next tournament, which will determine who will meet men’s champ El Grande Americano next.
