Daisuke Sekimoto recovering from cervical spine injury

Daisuke Sekimoto is recovering from a serious injury sustained this past weekend.

Sekimoto, 44, was injured at a Big Japan Pro Wrestling card this past Thursday and sustained a cervical spine injury.

The promotion issued an update on Sekimoto on Tuesday:

After examination at a hospital in Tokyo, his CT and MRI scans showed no abnormalities, and there was no suspicion of spinal cord damage.Sekimoto is currently feeling numbness in his arms and neck, but all of his muscles are tense and the numbness appears to be temporary. Hewill return home today and will consult with a hospital in Yokohama about future treatment.

Big Japan has added that he is not expected to wrestle throughout June, and they will reevaluate again in two weeks to determine if he can return.

He is not experiencing any paralysis or muscle weakness, according to Big Japan’s update.  

Sekimoto is approaching the twenty-sixth anniversary of his debut and has been affiliated with Big Japan throughout his career. He has held multiple championships in his home promotion as well as ones in All Japan Pro Wrestling, DDT, Zero1, and wXw.
