A scholarship fund is being launched in memory of Jordan Breen.

The popular MMA analyst has been remembered over the past week with countless tributes after it was revealed that he died last week at age 38.

Breen’s alma mater, the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is attempting to set up a memorial scholarship fund in his memory for aspiring sports broadcasters and reporters.

The Jordan Breen Scholarship for Sports Reporting at the University of King’s College is attempting to raise $100,000 with a GoFundMe campaign launched over the weekend.

Breen graduated from the school in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and social anthropology.

He began working for Sherdog in 2006, just after turning nineteen, and became one of the sport’s most prominent media figures for his in-depth analysis, photographic memory, and skills as a writer and broadcaster.

Breen was a key contributor to Sherdog’s FightFinder, which was the premier fighter database of its time, with extensive maintenance required to curate cards from around the world while also fact-checking to avoid inflated and misleading records.

Many of the site’s main staff would leave the site after ownership changes and positions dissolved, including Breen, who largely fell out of the scene over the past three years and had stopped posting online.

He had been living in Toronto for several years before moving back home to Halifax, where he spent the remaining years of his life and reportedly staying in a shelter.

Specific details of his passing have not been disclosed.

There have been many tributes for Breen, including ones from TJ De Santis on Submission Radio, Luke Thomas, Jack Encarnacao with Josh Nason, Chuck Mindenhall, David Bixenspan & Kris Zellner, and Nate Wilcox, among them.
