Stephanie McMahon briefly spoke about her father on the latest episode of What’s Your Story?
McMahon was joined by WWE president Nick Khan on her podcast, and she spoke about her father’s upbringing.
Stephanie shared stories about Vince being beaten as a child by her mother’s boyfriend and stood up for his mother in one instance of Vince being beaten with a lead pipe and left in a ditch.
The two spoke about McMahon’s interview with Playboy in 2001 and spoke of his disdain for his father-in-law, Leo Lupton, stating, “It’s unfortunate that he died before I could kill him. I would have enjoyed that.” McMahon said in the same interviews that the beatings began when he was six years old, when he would stand up for his mother.
McMahon also alluded to sexual abuse that he suffered, but not from Lupton, when asked by Playboy if it was by his mother, McMahon said, “Without saying that, I’d say that’s pretty close.”
Khan spoke about what McMahon built with WWE and stating that “I only have admiration for him” before referring to Paul Levesque’s comments at the Hall of Fame that “family is complicated,” and Stephanie immediately stopped him from going any further.
However, Stephanie ended that portion of the chat by referring to Vince as “is probably his own biggest nemesis”.

In January 2023, Stephanie McMahon resigned from her role as co-CEO of WWE just days after Vince McMahon’s return to the company, using his controlling voting shares to force his way back and replace several members on its board of directors.
In March 2024, Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were revealed as two of the four anonymized “Corporate Officers” in Janel Grant’s lawsuit, the identities of which were confirmed to Front Office Sports by Grant’s lawyer, Ann Callis, and later named in her amended complaint.
Since Vince McMahon’s resignation in January 2024, Stephanie has made multiple appearances at WWE events and is currently hosting the What’s Your Story podcast, and recently completed the first season of “Stephanie’s Places” with Omaha Productions on ESPN+.
