FTR and The Outrunners to settle differences next week
Tonight’s special Thursday edition of AEW Collision started with commentator Tony Schiavone in the ring to help arrange a face-to-face between The Outrunners and FTR.
FTR wanted to confront The Outrunners about how the babyface duo has “betrayed” them as of late. Trying to guilt them, they played a video package of past moments where the tag teams were together.
Dax Harwood alleged that The Outrunners are jealous of FTR. He warned The Outrunners that the fans will eventually turn against them, just like how they did to FTR. He told them that their gimmick will never earn them FTR money.
As FTR were on their way out, The Outrunners finally got a chance to speak. “I’ll be damned if these people ever stop believing in The Outrunners,” Truth Magnum said. “I think the biggest mistake here was that we believed in you,” Turbo Floyd said to FTR.
“The Outrunners were put on this earth to entertain … And after tonight, The Outrunners were put on this earth to whoop FTR’s ass!”

FTR teased the idea of coming back into the ring for a brawl, but then decided against it – Stokely Hathaway said they don’t fight for free. They then offered a challenge to face The Outrunners when AEW heads to Ontario, California, next week. This match was confirmed for next weekend’s Collision later on in the program.
The Patriarchy begins road toward tag titles
The first match of the night saw Nick Wayne and Christian Cage begin their campaign toward a potential title reign with a match against Big Bill and Bryan Keith. This match was set up on last weekend’s Collision after a confrontation between the two teams.
Wayne, who is from Washington, got a noticeable reaction from the Kent crowd despite being in a heel role. The match had a slow start, with lots of posturing and feeling-out before the actual wrestling started. Big Bill landed the first major move of the match just before commercials, picking up Wayne and tossing him onto Cage, taking them both out.
Cage and Wayne got control of the match during the break, allowing them to keep Keith isolated in their corner. After a shoulder tackle from Cage took out both him and Keith, it allowed Big Bill to get a hot tag against Wayne.
Bill scored a big splash in the corner, then did the same to Cage as well. Wayne came off the top, but suffered a big boot to the face from Bill. Cage, similarly, also took a boot. Keith got tagged in, allowing them to do a double-team move
Keith scored a hard lariat, then bridged a belly-to-belly suplex into a pinfall attempt onto Wayne, although it only earned him a two-count. Big Bill went to ringside, where he threw Kip Sabian into the timekeepers’ area. This moment distracted Keith, who was watching while in the ring.
After Keith clotheslined Cage off the ring apron, he kicked out of a roll-up pin attempt from Wayne. After a series of reversals, Keith scored a knee to the head, then a huge powerbomb. But, as he tried for a pin afterward, the referee was distracted by a complaint from Mother Wayne, who was on the ring apron.
Big Bill set Cage up against the ringpost and tried for a splash, but Cage moved out of the way, sending Bill head-first into the post.
Back in the ring, Wayne climbed to the top rope but was knocked down by a jumping headbutt from Keith. Keith tried for another powerbomb onto Wayne, but Cage got back into the ring and connected with a spear to stop the move. After all the schenanigans, Wayne scored a head kick to take Keith out and earn The Patriarchy their first tag win since setting their sights on duos gold.

After their win, MVP approached Cage and Wayne backstage. He said he heard about their tag title aspirations, but warned him about what facing The Hurt Syndicate would do to them. “Don’t do it,” MVP said. “Are you trying to convince myself, or are you trying to convince me?” Cage replied. “If I want those AEW tag team championships, they’re as good as ours. Do I make myself clear?”
MVP wished them good luck… “Because you’ll need it.”
Backstage, Josh Alexander said he will free Adam Cole of the burden of being a fighting TNT Champion when they face off tonight. He mentioned that he knows Cole has a bad ankle and won’t be walking “at all” after their match tonight.
Brody King and Templario score tag win
An interesting tag bout came next, as Brody King and Templario teamed up to take on The Don Callis Family’s Hechicero and Rocky Romero. Commentary noted that this was a first-time tag pairing for both squads.
The match picked up after a break, when King got a hot tag, giving him the chance to take on both Romero and Hechicero. He gave Hechicero a cannonball in the corner, but a pin attempt after was stopped by Romero.
King threw Romero out of the ring, then tagged Templario back into the match. They tried for a double team, but Romero lowered the top rope as King hit the ropes, dumping him to the outside.
Hechicero applied a leg submission to Templario, but was forced to let go after he reached the ropes for a break. Templario scored a big back body drop, setting up for King and Romero to get tagged back in.
Romero tried chops on King, but they were ineffective in comparison to the one huge chop that King needed to knock him down.
Hechicero, who was on the ring apron, grabbed hold of King, stopping his momentum briefly. This was eventually brought to an end by Templario, who walked the ropes before doing a double stomp onto Hechicero’s back – this was a creative spot.
Templario came off the middle rope with a dropkick to Romero. Hechicero was clotheslined to the outside by King, then taken out with a huge moonsault over the top rope by Templario. King then grabbed Romero for a Gonzo Bomb to win in 10 minutes.
The mission is clear: @MercedesVarnado aims to defeat Mina Shirakawa on #AEWDynamite 300, then head to #AEWAllInTexas to take the AEW Women’s World Title from “Timeless” Toni Storm.

A vignette from Toni Storm was cut short by Mercedes Moné, who saw seen bashing a projector backstage with a baseball bat. Moné warned Storm that this is actually her story, not hers. And that, if this is a “death sentence” she wants when they face off at All In: Texas, it’ll be “Murder that you wrote.”
Moné revealed that the bottom of her heels has photos of Storm on them. She then said she hopes Storm is ringside for her match Wednesday against Mina Shirakawa so she can see if she can even “stomach” the preview of their upcoming fight.
Backstage, a distraught Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa were interviewed. Shirakawa cut off an angry Storm, forcing her to promise not to get involved in her match against Moné next week. Storm promised, then told her to keep Moné alive so she could finish the job at All In.
Megan Bayne destroys Vert Vixen
In the first of four singles matches taking place on this week’s Collision, Megan Bayne took on Vert Vixen. It was noted on the broadcast that Bayne hasn’t lost on Collision yet. In fact, her sole AEW singles loss since returning earlier this year was her Dynasty title shot against to Toni Storm.
The crowd was quite behind Vixen, who is a regular in the Washington-based DEFY promotion. But, she had no chance with Bayne. After suffering a massive clothesline, Vixen was hit with Bayne’s Fate’s Descent finisher to win in under two minutes. It was mentioned on the broadcast that Bayne wants a spot in the women’s casino gauntlet match at All In.
Another DEVASTATING victory for @MeganBayne!

Anthony Bowens announced backstage that he’s appearing in the Casino Gauntlet Qualifying Match on Dynamite next week. The winner of next week’s match will secure the #2 entrant spot in the men’s match.
Adam Cole retains TNT title against Josh Alexander
Josh Alexander looked to obtain his first-ever AEW title in the next match, challenging TNT Champion Adam Cole. Alexander earned this match after pinning Cole in a tag match a few weeks back.
Cole tried for a Panama Sunrise early in the match, but a forearm from Alexander stopped the attack. A hurt Cole went to the ring apron and was followed by Alexander, who scored his famous crossbody to Cole’s back as the show went to a break.
Cole was back in the ring and gaining steam as the show returned. The defending champ got a near fall with a backstabber. He tried again for the Panama Sunrise, but Alexander reversed it, instead transitioning into an Ankle Lock.
Cole escaped the move, but Alexander picked him up for a forward roll slam, then came off the ropes with a knee strike to the champ’s head. Alexander picked Cole up, then carried him to the middle turnbuckle. However, once they got to that position, Cole started to resist what Alexander was attempting.
The two traded strikes while high-up in the corner. Cole eventually dropped Alexander with a series of forearms, allowing him to come down with the Panama Sunrise, finally hitting the move upon the third attempt. The bad news for Cole: It wasn’t enough to stop Alexander.
Cole lowered his right kneepad and tried for a running strike, but Alexander avoided the move by falling face-first. Was he truly hurt or just playing possum? Because as soon as Cole came near to him, Alexander sprang up to apply another ankle lock. Cole worked his way out of the move with kicks to the head.
After avoiding a huge head kick on the feet, Alexander connected with a big German suplex. He tried to bridge the move into a pin, but neck pains forced him to let go of the hold.
Cole escaped a move from Alexander, hit a pair of head kicks, then came off the ropes with his The Boom running knee strike for a pinfall win in 12 minutes. Cole remains your TNT Champion.

Outside the venue, Ricochet was confronted by AR Fox about abandoning him during their tag match on Dynamite. But as this conversation started, the Gates of Agony attacked Fox, slamming him up against a fence multiple times. They then turned to Ricochet, whom they were seemingly looking to impress. “Let’s talk,” Ricochet said to them.

Queen Aminata takes down Skye Blue ahead of All In Casino Gauntlet match
The co-main event of the evening saw Skye Blue take on Queen Aminata. These two have a history, with this being their sixth time facing off in singles action since 2020.
Julia Hart was at ringside for this match in support of Blue and proved to be an effective corner early. She distracted Aminata during the first minute of the match, giving Blue the chance to score a head kick. Blue had the advantage as the match went to a break, scoring a nasty twisting suplex onto the floor.
Blue came running off the ropes at the six-minute mark, but took a headbutt from Aminata. Blue was sent retreating near Hart at ringside after taking a series of Chocolate Kisses from Aminata.
Hart shielded Blue from Aminata briefly. Once Aminata got close to them, Blue popped out from behind Hart, catching Aminata off guard and causing her to get thrown into the steel stairs. Blue then came off the top and to the outside with what looked like a double knees dive. This move seemingly missed the mark.
Back in the ring, Aminata reversed a Code Blue into a roll-up attempt. Aminata couldn’t finish the match with the pin, but found a pinfall after scoring her Off With Her Head kick finisher, ending the bout in eight minutes.

Hart got into the ring after the match to face off with Aminata. However, as the two were staring each other down, a third party got into the mix: Thekla.
Thkela came to the ring, and it looked like she was there to do more than just stare others down, taking off her jacket. Blue jumped Aminata from behind, causing all three heel wrestlers to start beating down on her. Tay Melo and Anna Jay came to the ring with weapons to send the heel trio retreating. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford appeared on the stage to stare at everyone else as the segment came to a close.
After numerous run-ins, it became clear that this segment was a plug for the Casino Gauntlet match at All In, where any of the numerous rising names in the women’s division could become next for the world title.
Daniel Garcia and Daddy Magic were being interviewed backstage about their issues with the Don Callis Family. The interview was cut off by Rocky Romero, who said he thinks Garcia doesn’t know what a real friend looks like, and if he wants a real family, he knows where to find Don Callis’ group.
A quick rundown of next week’s shows aired just before the main event:

Fletcher wins Battle of the Kyles
The headlining bout of the night was the battle of the Kyles, as Tony Khan hyped it on social media. Kyle Fletcher went one-on-one against Kyle O’Reilly.
The crowd was having lots of fun with the matching names early on. “Let’s go Kyle, Kyle sucks” chants were heard, among the dozen or so other ideas they threw out during the bout.
Fletcher put O’Reilly onto the ring apron, then sent him flying to the outside with a kick to the head before the program went into its final break. Fletcher kept control of the match during commercials, dumping O’Reilly onto the ring apron at one point.
O’Reilly reversed a slam attempt from Fletcher into an armbar, giving him an opening to get back into the match. After escaping the move, the Kyles traded hard blows. They both went down after O’Reilly connected with a knee to the body.
O’Reilly hit another series of kicks, scored a forearm in the corner, then tried for a guillotine choke. Fletcher escaped the submission, but had the back of his left leg taken out by O’Reilly right after. O’Reilly dropped Fletcher with a forearm, giving him a two-count.
O’Reilly tried again for an armbar, but Fletcher escaped with a series of kicks to the head. O’Reilly got Fletcher caught up in the ropes, giving him the chance to go after his legs more with attacks. O’Reilly climbed to the top rope to score a flying knee strike onto Fletcher, who was draped off the ropes.
O’Reilly went to the top for another knee drop to the body of Fletcher. He put in a leg submission, but Fletcher escaped the hold by reaching the ropes.
Fletcher rolled to the outside, where O’Reilly tried for a flying knee strike off the apron. Fletcher dodged the move, instead scoring a superkick, then a running kick to O’Reilly’s head.
O’Reilly escaped a brainbuster, instead, dragging down the arm of Fletcher to make him fall face-first onto a steel chair, which was set up at ringside. O’Reilly then came off the ring apron for a shotgun dropkick to Fletcher, who was still in the chair.
The referee became distracted as Fletcher got rolled into the ring, allowing Don Callis Family member Lance Archer to wipe out O’Reilly with a head kick.
Fletcher scored a Michinoku Driver in the ring, but a resilient O’Reilly wasn’t out of the match yet. Fletcher landed a kick in the corner, but O’Reilly tried for a roll-up right after. The damage eventually became too much for O’Reilly, who suffered a pinfall loss after consuming a running knee and then a brainbuster. This was a really fun match which was definitely deserving of its headlining spot on the card.
