John Cena defeats CM Punk to retain WWE Title amid chaos courtesy of Seth Rollins and his crew

John Cena has retained the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions.

A cavalcade of interference from Seth Rollins and his crew contributed to the eventual win over CM Punk. Penta and Sami Zayn also got involved.

The match began at a slow pace but nevertheless the Riyadh crowd were engaged throughout.

Later, the pair began to trade their signature moves, with Punk making several attempts at the GTS.

Punk also narrowly kicked out of three Attitude Adjustments.

Cena rolled out of the ring and grabbed his Championship. He looked to wind up for a belt shot, but tossed it aside as the fans chanted “No.”

This pause led to Punk successfully hitting the GTS, but only for a two-count.

Referee Dan Engler then took a bump. Punk hit a second GTS and had Cena down, but there was no official to make the count.

At this point, Seth Rollins appeared with the Money in the Bank briefcase, flanked by Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

Reed and Breakker took to the ring and attacked Punk, eventually putting him through the Arabic announce desk.

Rollins then motioned for a fresh referee, but Cena tackled Charles Robinson as he approached the ring.

Cena then delivered an AA to Rollins, before he was attacked by Breakker and Reed.

Penta came out at this point, fighting Breakker on the entranceway. Sami Zayn then emerged, fighting Breakker on the arena stage.

Back in the ring, Cena delivered an AA to Reed.

This left Punk and Cena alone again in the ring. Punk offered his hand, and Cena took it, embracing Punk before going for a low blow.

Punk escaped but took the MITB briefcase to the head from Rollins. Rollins followed up with a stomp, allowing Cena to grab the pin and retain.
