Adam “Cope” Copeland says he’s trying to enjoy the final stages of his career as a wrestler.
The former WWE star and current AEW talent posted a statement on Instagram this Tuesday, reflecting on the 33rd anniversary of his professional wrestling in-ring debut.
In his message, thanking those who have supported him along the way, he specifically mentioned times when fans have performed his theme during his entrance. At one point, he makes reference to the ovation he received during AEW Grand Slam: Australia in February: “Australia I’m lookin at you!” he wrote.
Cope, 51, ended his message by acknowledging that his time as a wrestler is nearing its end, giving him further motivation to “soak in” what’s left.

“On Canada Day 33 yrs ago I made my wrestling debut. In Oakland Raiders Zubaz and a pair of Converse. Nowhere to go but up. Since then, I’ve travelled the world. Literally. Everywhere you can think of. From Moose Landing to Monterrey, from Bloodvein to Bucharest. It’s been a long, fruitful, soul expanding, soul diminishing, amazing, frustrating, exhausting, exhilarating journey over 3 decades. The best part? I hear every one of you when I blast out of that entranceway and sing Metalingus at the top of your lungs. It’s never been lost on me what a privilege that is. Australia I’m lookin at you! It won’t last a lot longer so I’m gonna soak in every second. Thank you for coming along on this ride with me.”
Cope was last seen back at AEW’s Dynasty pay-per-view in April, when he unsuccessfully challenged for the World Trios Championships alongside Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood.
The trio known as Rated FTR broke up afterward, with Wheeler and Harwood attacking Cope following their loss.
