Drew McIntyre’s in-ring return is booked.
Wrestling for the first time since late May, McIntyre will take on Randy Orton at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, which will go down next week at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
McIntyre interrupted a segment involving Orton and Cody Rhodes on Friday’s episode of Smackdown, attempting to stir the pot between the two singles stars. The Scottish wrestler’s smack talk eventually became enough for Orton, who hit him with an RKO as the segment came to an end.
McIntyre later demanded Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis for a match against Orton, which was booked for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
McIntyre was last seen in late May, when he lost a steel cage match to Damian Priest on the previous Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Orton will be appearing in a bounce-back match, trying to regain some momentum after losing in the finals of the 2025 King of the Ring tournament.
Three matches are now set for next week’s SNME. Previous additions to the show include a world title match between Gunther and the returning Goldberg, and a grudge bout involving Seth Rollins and LA Knight.
- Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight
- Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre
- Gunther vs. Goldberg (WWE World Heavyweight Championship)
