Friday Night SmackDown topped cable on its night, airing against Game 1 of the World Series.

The October 24 episode averaged 1,147,000 viewers and 395,000 viewers (0.29) in the 18-49 demographic on the USA Network.

The show’s viewership declined by three percent; however, the core demo increased by four percent from the prior week.

In the 18-49 demographic, males grew from 242,000 viewers last week to 256,000 viewers. Females were even week over week.

It was SmackDown’s largest audience in the 18-49 demo since September 26, which was the first week of Big Data + Panel.

The fact that it performed so well was impressive, given Game 1 of the World Series attracted an audience of 12,499,000 viewers and a 2.53 rating in the 18-49 demo on Fox.

Fox promoted that across all its properties, the game averaged 13,305,000 viewers and peaked with 14,082,000 between 10:15 – 10:30 p.m. ET. It was the second-highest Game 1 of the World Series since 2019, behind last year’s opening game between the Dodgers and Yankees.
