Taiji Ishimori and Robbie X advanced to the Super Junior Tag League final on Saturday in Osaka. The pair will now face DOUKI and SHO on Sunday.
The event took place at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium #2 in front of a reported 977 fans.
Ishimori and Robbie X defeated Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita in the main event to win the B Block. Both teams entered the match with eight points.
The match saw several counters, including Eagles reversing Ishimori’s Bone Lock into a Turbo Backpack. Ishimori eventually hit the Bloody Cross on Eagles to secure the pinfall.
The main event became a winner-take-all bout after the semi-main event, where El Desperado and KUUKAI defeated KUSHIDA and Yuki Yoshioka. The loss eliminated KUSHIDA and Yoshioka from contention. Desperado secured the victory with a Pinche Loco on Yoshioka.
In the night’s other B Block match, Tiger Mask and YAMATO earned their first tournament victory. YAMATO defeated Dick Togo via referee stoppage with a Doujime Sleeper Hold.
Following the main event, A Block winners DOUKI and SHO attacked Ishimori and Robbie X. The B Block winners fought off the House of Torture members.
The final will take place on Sunday, November 2, at ‘Hiroshi Tanahashi ~ Returning Home in Glory’ at the Gifu Memorial Center Deai Dome.
The card is also scheduled to feature IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Koosuke Takeshita defending against Hirooki Goto, and IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji facing Hiroshi Tanahashi.
