An unexpected prizefighter hit the ring during Tuesday night’s Sukeban showcase event inside the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom.
Undefeated 174-pound boxing champ Claressa Shields made a surprise appearance at last night’s card, as shown in footage captured by numerous attendees at the event.
The unexpected cameo saw the decorated boxer share the ring with numerous Joshi talents, as part of the wrestling project which takes many of Japan’s top women’s wrestling names and brings them internationally for events.
A on-site report from Fernando Quiles Jr. of FightsATW.com explains that Shields was a surprise teammate for Commander Nakajima (Arisa Nakajima), replacing the injured Victoria Yuzuki.

Footage shows Shields hitting the ring and immediately delivering a knockout blow, allowing her team to win via pinfall.
Shields’ appearance at Sukeban comes just days after she made headlines for a physical exchange with fellow decorated boxer Alycia Baumgardner at Most Valuable Promotions’ debut MMA event.
A clip from inside the Intuit Dome shows Shields taking a swipe at Baumgardner, after a heated verbal exchange inside the venue. The incident caused MVP to issue an indefinite ban on Shields attending their future events.
Last night’s Sukeban card, sponsored by sports and fashion powerhouse Nike, was one of the brand’s biggest yet. They have sporadically presented shows across the world over the past few years, including in Los Angeles, Miami, Berlin, and London.
