Mexico’s top star is hopeful for a return as early as next week as he deals with a knee injury.
Místico spoke on CMLL Informa to provide an update on his injury, which has sidelined the top attraction since May 17, when he injured himself in Monterrey.
He appeared on the talk show with a brace on his left knee and confirmed that he has a sprained knee and a “second to third degree tear of the femoral muscle”, adding that he is in “strong pain” but is rehabbing twice per day.
When asked about a return, he said he is hopeful to return as soon as next Friday, June 5, at Arena México, noting he would like to return at CMLL’s home venue as a signal that he is back rather than in another building or city.
Místico has led the resurgence of CMLL as its top draw and currently holds the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship and the Trios titles as part of El Sky Team.
At 43, he is in massive demand, with Cagematch listing that he has already had 85 matches this year. Last year, he wrestled 246 times, which was the most in his career, topping his previous record of 231 in 2024.
