Jim Ross has said he is due to return home after spending more than a month in hospital.
The AEW broadcaster and WWE Hall of Famer posted a brief update to social media on Monday night, writing that his hospital stay was nearing its end.
Heading home tomorrow!
Over 30 days in the hospital come to a grateful end.
Count your blessings daily.
Ross has not disclosed the reason for his hospitalization.
On June 20, Ross wrote that he was on “day 22” in a hospital in Norman, Oklahoma, while watching the College World Series. That update indicated that he had been hospitalized since late May.
Ross, 74, has dealt with several health issues in recent years, including colon cancer. He underwent surgery last year and has also spoken publicly about undergoing neurological testing.
Ross attended AEW Double or Nothing in New York last month and called the Continental Championship match between Jon Moxley and Kyle O’Reilly. On Grilling JR, Ross said he had suffered a fall at home before traveling to the pay-per-view, which led to him missing his original flight.
Ross joined AEW in 2019 and was part of the original commentary team for Dynamite. In recent years, his schedule has been reduced, with Ross primarily used for select matches on pay-per-view.
Ross has also said that his AEW contract runs through August, though he has stated that he is not worried about whether the company will renew the deal.
