Phoenix will receive its first-ever AEW pay-per-view this fall.
AEW Full Gear will head to the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, November 14. The event was reported by The Arizona Republic before AEW announced the event on Monday.
AEW has visited Phoenix for TV frequently since 2023, with a January trip to the city being their fourth time visiting. The upcoming event will be their return to the Mortgage Matchup Center (formerly PHX Arena, Footprint Center, and Talking Stick Resort Arena) since 2024.
The Mortgage Matchup Center has a capacity of 17,000. AEW’s last time visiting the venue, albeit for an episode of Dynamite instead of a PPV, saw them bring 5,200 through the door. AEW has attracted just over 3,200 in more recent trips to the market, visiting the much smaller Arizona Financial Theatre for TV tapings.
Monday’s announcement shifts Full Gear away from Newark, New Jersey, where the past two editions of the PPV have taken place. The event has been part of AEW’s annual PPV slate since the company’s beginning in 2019. Since AEW started hosting Worlds End as part of its schedule, Full Gear has become the brand’s second-to-last PPV of the year.
An early access sale for the event will begin on July 20. General sale is scheduled for July 27.
