Mike Santana’s new name has been revealed.
The two-time TNA World Champion will now wrestle under the name Cruz Montana, it was confirmed on Monday night.
Santana made his NXT debut last week, appearing in the WWE Performance Center shortly after a title match between Tony D’Angelo and Naraku wrapped up. Commentators on the broadcast didn’t mention his name directly during the segment, making many assume that he would soon undergo a name change.
Santana made it clear in a recent social media post that Montana is his new ring name.

“Last week, I made my official debut on NXT and set the wrestling world on fire, all without saying a thing,” he said. “But my actions let everybody know exactly what my sight is set on. But tomorrow night, live, I put words behind those actions. And for the first time, you get to hear what Cruz Montana has to say.”
Montana is coming over to NXT after a strong run in TNA, spending a year being the company’s top babyface. Many expected him to make the jump to WWE after he became a free agent earlier this month.
