Janel Grant shared an update following a hospitalization stay earlier this summer.
Grant detailed a “serious accident” where she sustained a concussion after falling inside her home around the end of July or early August, with an inability to remember when.
She states she “blacked out” and had memory loss for days until she was being driven to the hospital. She discovered she had a concussion, broken ribs, and a lung hemorrhage. The post included several photos of injuries with bruising and marks on her legs and arms.

Grant describes “a daily atrophy” of her body since June 2022 when the existence of her non-disclosure agreement with McMahon was reported by the Wall Street Journal.
It was on my walk back to bed that I tripped and fell into a wooden bed frame/wall unit with floating cabinets. I blacked out. I think it happened at the end of July or the start of August.
I have no memory of the days that followed. I didn’t know I hit my head or what I kept falling. I have no memory from those days of blood trails, bruising, busted body parts and becoming an unrecognizable version of myself.
My next memory is days later. I was being driven to the hospital out of concern about my well-being.
In a series of messages posted to Instagram, she painted a picture of isolation when checking into the hospital and being asked for information about family, friends, employer, insurance, and an emergency contact. Later, she noted that “everything from my bones to my bank account is still broken.”
She did provide an optimistic message that “Despite everything in my life breaking, I’ve never felt more alive. I’ve also never believed more in the power of humanity to rally around someone in need” and that “It took a serious accident and everything breaking to realize – finally – that I’m not alone.”
In July, Grant and her legal representatives filed a voluntary dismissal of their suit with prejudice, which was launched in January 2024 alleging that Grant was sexually assaulted and trafficked. The filing to dismiss occurred after the parties agreed to take the case to arbitration, which had been the source of contention regarding the proper venue for the case.
Grant is set to be honored by the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence with a presentation of its Advocacy in Action Award on September 11.
