Jim Ross to undergo surgery on Tuesday

Jim Ross is undergoing surgery on Tuesday and provided an update on his cancer diagnosis.

The Hall of Fame broadcaster spoke on his Grilling J.R. podcast with co-host Conrad Thompson on Monday, alerting his audience that he will have surgery on Tuesday at 6 a.m. and expects to have a six-day hospital stay.

Earlier this month, Ross said he had been diagnosed with colon cancer, although in this update stated it this cancer is in two places and that the colon cancer was a previous issue from years ago.

Ross has been inundated with well wishes, including multiple mentions on AEW’s broadcasts, and received phone calls from Steve Austin and Tony Khan.

The broadcaster states he has no plans to retire and believes he could maintain his previous schedule of doing the monthly AEW pay-per-views, but stated that it is for Khan to determine. He has no plans of retiring after this latest health ailment.

He is hopeful of being in attendance for All In Texas on July 12 at Globe Life Field.
