Billy Jack Haynes, who faces a second-degree murder charge, is now being sued by the family of Janette Becraft.
KPTV in Portland reports that a civil suit has been filed against the former pro wrestler, citing repeated mental, physical, and financial abuse against Becraft, with the estate seeking $750,000.
The news outlet reports that the lawsuit alleges that Haynes forced Becraft to sever ties with the family, liquidate her retirement funds, withdraw money from her accounts, and switch medical providers.
Additionally, the suit claims that Haynes introduced Becraft to heroin and meth, forced her to purchase a gun for him, and coerced her into marriage.
In February 2024, Haynes shot and killed Becraft and was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff with police, and has remained incarcerated since. Earlier this month, it was ruled that Haynes was not deemed fit to stand trial this December.
Haynes was a subject of the current season of Dark Side of the Ring on VICE TV, including an interview with Haynes conducted in the Multnomah County Detention Center in Oregon. Becraft’s family did not respond to the producers of the show.
