Mina Shirakawa has a future date with Red Velvet, as confirmed on Friday night.
Shirakawa captured the interim ROH Women’s World Television Championship at Supercard of Honor on Friday night, setting her up for a future title unification bout with main champ Velvet.
Shirakawa overcame Miyu Yamashita, Yuka Sakazaki, and Persephone in a four-way match for the interim title, submitting Yamashita with a Figure Four leglock near the 14-minute mark.
The win, albeit for an interim title, marks the first belt that Shirakawa has won since officially crossing over to AEW earlier this year.
It was announced this week that Velvet wouldn’t be able to fight on the card due to injury, causing the promotion to introduce an interim title. It’s unclear when a potential title unification between her and Shirakawa will take place.
