X-Division Champ Moose opens card with win

The go-home episode of TNA Impact ahead of Slammiversary 2025 started with a singles bout between Moose and Sami Callihan. This was a System-heavy episode of TNA, as they’ll be in action later tonight, and make another appearance. This was Moose’s final match before he defends his X-Division Championship this weekend against Leon Slater.

Callihan got a near fall just a minute into the match, catching Moose with a stunner. He tried to follow up with another move, but Moose dodged the maneuver and instead came running off the ropes with a spear, getting him back in control of the bout.

Moose tried to pounce Callihan at ringside, but Callihan instead picked him up for a slam onto the floor. Back in the ring, Callihan teased a Cactus Driver. Moose escaped the move, then came off the ropes for another spear, earning him the pinfall win after just a few minutes.

Moose cut a promo on Slammiversary opponent Slater after his win. “At Slammiversary, you’re stepping into the biggest match of your entire career,” he said. “Well, for me, it’s just another Sunday.” After saying he plans to prevent Slater’s plans from becoming the youngest X-Division champ in TNA history, he turned his attention back to Callihan.

“Sami, you don’t have it anymore,” Moose said, before calling him a “fat piece of garbage.” Moose then ordered Callihan to retire, leaving his boots in the ring. Callihan didn’t reply to this order, instead leaving the ring.

Darkstate crash six-man tag bout

A faction war was expected to take place next, as Order Four’s Mustafa Ali, Jason Hotch, and John Skyler were scheduled to meet The System’s Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, and JDC. This match was made last week after The System protested Order Four’s claim that they were the top faction in TNA.

Key words: Was expected. The six-man tag match ended up not happening, as NXT faction Darkstate crashed the party. As Order Four were making their entrance, the heel quartet came to the ring to attack The System, wiping them out as the crowd chanted “NXT.” An approving Ali and company walked away as their scheduled opponents were left damaged.

Backstage, Dani Luna delivered a fired-up promo about how she will overcome Tessa Blanchard in singles action tonight.

Tessa Blanchard avoids upset loss to Dani Luna

The next bout of the night saw Dani Luna look to take down Tessa Blanchard. This bout gave a chance for Luna to pull off somewhat of an upset against Blanchard before the heel talent meets Indi Hartwell at Slammiversary.

Luna had a strong start to the match, but a lot of that momentum was stripped away after Blanchard took out her legs while climbing up the ropes, causing her to take a nasty fall back onto the mat.

Blanchard tried to put out Luna with a guillotine choke, but the former Spitfire tag talent eventually powered out of the hold with a suplex. Both wrestlers returned to the feet, where Luna failed to score with the Luna Landing, but got Blanchard back to the mat with a dropkick.

Luna got a two-count after a quick series of reversals ended with a powerbomb. Blanchard escaped another Luna Landing attempt, then stopped a middle-rope move from Luna. This allowed Blanchard to connect a Codebreaker against Luna out of the corner, giving her a two-count.

Both wrestlers climbed to the top again. Blanchard knocked Luna to the mat with a headbutt. Luna caught Blanchard as she came off the top with a double knees attempt, reversing the move into a Blue Thunder Bomb. For a third time, Luna tried for a Luna Landing, but was stopped by Victoria Crawford, who got onto the ring apron and briefly held onto a leg of Blanchard.

Blanchard escaped the move and got onto the top rope, allowing her to come down with her Magnum finishing move to win via pinfall. Luna was given a solid spotlight in the match, allowing her to do some interesting things before inevitably losing.

Crawford and Blanchard looked to attack Luna afterward, but a post-match beatdown was stopped by Indi Hartwell, who came in for the save.

Hartwell got on the mic: “You haven’t known me in six years,” she said to Blanchard. “But at Slammiversary, you’ll get to know me, b****.”

A brawl between The Elegance Brand and The IInspiration from three weeks ago aired again. A backstage promo from The IInspiration was then shown, where they discussed how they will take the Knockouts tag titles off them.

TNA & NXT women’s champs face off

TNA showed a clip recapping TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich’s appearances at NXT Great American Bash and NXT TV. Slamovich notably scored a pinfall win against Jacy Jayne in six-woman tag action, just a few days before their Slammiversary bout.

The Elegance Brand made its way out to the ring. Commentary noted that this was expected to be Jacy Jayne’s time to appear. Ash got on the microphone to say they were forced to issue an apology for attacking The IInspiration and were fired $5,000 for the altercation. She blames fans for the setback, as she claimed that the footage submitted to TNA of the attack was doctored.

The focus then went to how fans just care about Jacy Jayne vs. Masha Slamovich, not Ash. “Everybody should be talking about me!” said Ash, who reminded fans that she’s set to face the winner of the match, as determined in a recent #1 contenders battle royal.

Ash was eventually cut off by Jayne, who appeared alongside the rest of Fatal Influence.

Jayne said that Fatal Influence didn’t have any issues with the Elegance brand until they claimed that they are the most dominant women’s faction in wrestling… Shades of the Order Four and System feud which lasted two weeks.

“When I beat Masha Slamovich at Slammiversary and officially become the double champion, I’d be happy to remind you exactly where you stand when it comes to women’s pro wrestling,” Jayne said to Ash.

Slamovich’s music hit. Elegance Brand lost interest in the segment and left during her entrance. The TNA champ addressed Jayne before Slammiversary: “I’ll be damned if I come to my city and let this championship be taken by an outsider … To take this TNA title from me, you’re gonna have to stop my heart from beating. Can you say the same?”

The two champs went face to face as the segment came to an end.

During TNA’s “Injury Report,” it was mentioned that KC Navarro is cleared to compete again. He was pulled from an NXT match in recent weeks due to a knee issue.

Backstage, former Spitfire tag partner Jody Threat showed up to check on Dani Luna following her loss. Luna kind of brushed off Threat.

Home Town Man beats Eric Young ally

A clip was played from NXT’s Great American Bash, where a contract signing for Joe Hendry vs. Mike Santana vs. Trick Williams ended with a brawl against Darkstate. They also showed Tuesday’s NXT, where the Slammiversary headliners overcame Darkstate in tag action.

The Northern Armory’s Judas Icarus battled The Home Town man in the next bout. Eric Young and his Northern Armory were told last week by Santino Marella that if they can prove the Home Town Man is Cody Deaner, he’ll fire him.

Home Town Man, wrestling in front of his home supporters at Moon Township, Pennsylvania, had control against Icarus from the start. He got a two-count after a cutter, then set up for another move. Travis Williams rolled into the ring to distract the Home Town Man. As the referee was looking at Williams, Icarus bit a hand of Home Town Man to get back into the bout.

Icarus got a two-count of his own after taking out the legs of Home Town Man with a kick, then scoring a forearm to the head. As the referee was looking away again, Williams started to try and peel the mask off Home Town Man.

Home Town Man avoided another forearm from Icarus, then started to mount a comeback with a pair of clotheslines and a slam. He took out Williams with a tope suicida to the outside, then scored with a Sliced Bread onto Icarus for the pinfall win. Deaner, I mean, Home Town Man, is on a roll.

Young hit the ring afterward and tried to get his hands on the Home Town Man, but Pennsylvania’s own was able to escape.

For the second straight week, Real1 (formerly Enzo Amore) appeared in a vignette. The video, once again sponsored by Westside Gunn’s Fourth Rope promotion, included him saying he’ll show up to Slammiversary with Zilla Fatu and a “Bishop.” “I’m gonna show up to Slammiversary, and I ain’t showin’ up alone.”

TNA International Champion Steve Maclin said in a backstage promo that he’s still interested in facing any challengers from around the world in a title bout. Commentary noted that he wants a fight at Slammiversary.

The System saves Matt Cardona from Darkstate attack

Matt Cardona was set for singles action in the next bout, facing Jake Painter. Before competing, he grabbed a microphone and acknowledged that NXT’s Darkstate is in the venue, since they attacked The System earlier in the night. He said that he’s “always ready,” and willing to fight Darkstate.

Right after the bell went, the lights went out. Darkstate accepted Cardona’s challenge.

Cardona and his poor opponent, Painter, both got jumped by the group. Darkstate were getting ready to powerbomb Cardona, but then, surprisingly, The System’s Brian Myers came in for the save. While Myers got Cardona out of harm’s way, he was outnumbered.

Darkstate were forced to retreat after The System’s JDC and Eddie Edwards also hit the ring, both possessing weapons.

TNA’s tag division brawl ahead of ladder match

Ahead of their four-way tag title ladder match on Sunday, The Hardys came to the ring for a promo. Matt thanked the fans for their support over the years. He noted that they promised themselves before that they would never want to perform if they became a shell of their former selves. The crowd started to chant: “You still got it.”

Jeff mentioned that if The Hardys don’t win at Slammiversary, it might be time for them to retire. Leon Slater, who many have considered the “Third Hardy Boy,” came to the ring to interrupt.

Slater talked about how The Hardys have changed his life, as they have changed the lives of many others. Matt told Slater that he appreciates the support, but he needs to focus on his X-Division match. “I need you two to focus,” Slater replied. “I need you two to get out of this mental slump you’re in right now and get back to being the Hardy Boys that we all grew up loving.”

The Hardys got fired up by this speech – Jeff took off his shirt. But the speech was interrupted by First Class, who will also be in the ladder match. The team told The Hardys that they’re washed.

The Hardys told Slater to leave the ring, as this beef isn’t his to solve. The Nemeths, who will try to defend their titles in the ladder bout, came out next. After some trash talk, The Nemeths jumped The Hardys. As this happened, The Rascalz came out and started brawling with First Class.

The Hardys didn’t want to wait until Slammiversary for ladder match action, bringing a ladder into the ring, which they used to wipe out AJ Francis. They both climbed the ladder and posed at the top as the segment came to a close.

Slammiversary headliners face off after tag bout

The main event of the night saw Frankie Kazarian team with TNA World Champion Trick Williams to face Joe Hendry and Mike Santana. Kazarian found his way into this match due to his involvement in a face-off between the three other wrestlers on a recent TNA episode.

A debate between Hendry and Santana over who should start the match allowed Williams to jump them, giving the heel duo the lead to start the match. Hendry battled back into the match during the break, picking on Kazarian.

Santana tagged himself into the match, which Hendry didn’t like. He hit the Three Amigos on Kazarian. The veteran, Kazarian, got back into the bout after reversing a move from Santana into a neckbreaker. Williams got tagged back in after.

Santana tried to mount a comeback against Kazarian, scoring a rolling Buck 50 for a near fall. However, Kazarian avoided a Death Valley Driver by raking the eyes of Santana moments later, allowing him to score a backstabber and a springboard legdrop.

Santana escaped a Three Amigos from Williams, but ate a Trick Kick moments later. Williams connected with a Death Valley Driver for a two-count. Everything led up to a Hendry hot tag, where he took out both Kazarian and Williams with lariats.

Hendry wiped out Kazarian with a cutter, then got Williams out of the ring with a clothesline. He gave Kazarian a fallaway slam, then also a deadlift version of the move to Williams – very impressive.

After getting in the face of Santana, Hendry started to set up for a move against Kazarian. However, instead of Williams hitting his move, Santana tagged into the match and landed his Spin The Block finisher for the pinfall win.

Hendry, Santana, and Williams, who will face off Sunday in the main event, stared each other down as the segment ended.

As the show came to a close, a vignette teased the return of AJ Styles at Slammiversary.
