For the first time in over a year, WWE will head to Japan later this year.

WWE has a doubleheader of Supershow events scheduled to take place at Ryogoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo on October 17 and 18, per an announcement made by the promotion this week.

WWE last visited Japan in July 2024, when they presented a trio of events between Tokyo and Osaka. Before then, their last shows in the country dated all the way back to 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic significantly affecting their touring schedule.

WWE has spent the last few years “trimming” its event schedule, significantly cutting down on the number of non-televised live events hosted per year. While this change is especially noticeable stateside, where few house shows have taken place so far this year, WWE has continued to book live events in international markets.

Along with the upcoming trip to Japan, WWE recently hosted a pair of events in Mexico, visited Europe, and plans to do another European house show tour ahead of Clash in Paris next month.

A poster for the upcoming Supershows featured Gunther, Finn Balor, AJ Styles, New Day, Sami Zayn, IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley, and Jey Uso.
