The inaugural WWE ID Champions were crowned on Friday night.
Kylie Rae and Cappuccino Jones became the first to hoist the titles at the GCW Presents WWE ID Showcase in Rutherford, New Jersey. The event aired on Triller TV+.
In the tournament final for the men’s title, Cappuccino Jones defeated his regular tag team partner, Jack Cartwheel.
Jones, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, was one of the first three talents announced for the WWE ID program. He has been featured on the WWE Evolve show that airs on Tubi.
Sean Waltman presented Jones with his title at the close of the show.
The women’s title was decided in a triple-threat match that saw Kylie Rae defeat Zayda Steel and Zara Zakher.
Rae is a veteran of the independent circuit with past experience in AEW, Impact, and NWA. She forced Steel to submit to a crossface to win the title.
Rae joined the WWE ID program in late 2024 after a previous tryout with the WWE in 2022.
Launched in late 2024, WWE states that the ID program is intended to create a developmental bridge between the independent scene and WWE. The program offers some financial and developmental support to selected independent talents, creating a possible pathway into the WWE system.
WWE has stated that the titles can be defended against any independent talent. Should a non-ID program member win a championship, they will be awarded a WWE ID contract.
