A high-stakes matchup has been added to NXT’s upcoming TV taping in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The next man in line to face NXT Champion Oba Femi will be determined on the August 19 episode of NXT at The Met Philadelphia when Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans face off, as announced on Tuesday evening’s episode.
The winner of the bout will go on to challenge Femi at NXT Heatwave, which will take place just five days later in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Williams and Evans have both been eyeing a shot at Femi for weeks. On the latest edition of NXT, they both agreed to face off in a singles bout to figure out who could meet Femi for a title opportunity at the next NXT PLE, with Williams insisting that he’d like to wait until the show goes back on the road and hits Philadelphia.
The upcoming card will also feature a rematch between Ricky Saints and Jasper Troy, as revealed on Tuesday’s show. Saints called for a second fight against Troy following his countout loss to him last month in Houston.
Regarding next week, three matches have been confirmed thus far. A feud between Lash Legend and Nia Jax will finally get its first match, coming after they both brawled all around the Performance Center on this week’s episode.
Femi, Williams, Evans and TNA’s Moose will team up to take on Darkstate in eight-man tag action, and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne will be in the ring alongside Fatal Influence member Fallon Henley against Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan.
