The MFTs and Sami Zayn

SmackDown from Boston kicked off with Solo Sikoa and MFT (the “s” was gone from their ring announce and their lower third, but then immediately Joe Tessitore, Wade Barrett, and Sikoa himself called them the MFTs) cutting a promo saying Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu saying they had “stomped” them all out. This brought out the aforementioned Sami Zayn, who thanked Sikoa, saying he now knows he won’t get a world title shot anytime soon, and he felt liberated. Zayn said that the United States Championship was the one title he had never won in WWE.

Zayn revealed that he was now officially on SmackDown and was coming for Sikoa. With that, a brawl erupted, with Jimmy Uso running down and immediately failing to help. Jacob Fatu then joined the fray, and the three faces fought off the MFTs. Nick Aldis appeared and made a six-man match between the two groups as tonight’s main event.

Backstage, Chelsea Green and Secret Hervice were interviewed and stated that Alexa Bliss would pay for smashing the cake into Green’s face the previous week.

Alexa Bliss vs. Piper Niven

Piper Niven dominated the early portion of the match until finally Alexa Bliss mounted a comeback, only to have Chelsea Green attempt to interfere when Charlotte Flair took out Green. Bliss then rolled up Niven for the victory, but was immediately attacked by Alba Fyre. Flair then got in the ring, and a three-on-two fight ensued, and the heels left Bliss lying.

Backstage, Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill were arguing with Nick Aldis in the middle when Nia Jax interrupted and said she was ready for her title shot. Stratton said she would take on Jax first and then Cargill afterwards.

Melo Don’t Miz vs. Fraxiom

Just as the bell rang, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis appeared (separately) in the crowd, and Miz was visibly shaken by it. Miz then tagged Carmelo Hayes, who was being cheered by the Boston crowd, even receiving “Let’s go Melo” chants. Miz and Melo couldn’t get on the same page, and it appeared we were resuming their dissension from a few months ago.

Hayes reversed a superplex by Frazer into a cutter and set up for The First 48 when Miz tagged himself in and hit the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. This was a pretty good match that was hindered by the Miz/Melo storyline.

Backstage, Kiana James stopped Tiffany Stratton and offered her and Giulia as her “protection.” Stratton declined their offer, and James said if she wasn’t with them, she was against them. Michin then approached and said she had Giulia next, and James laughed her off.

Let’s See It Again

Drew McIntyre was out next and replayed the footage of him hitting the Claymore on Cody Rhodes. McIntyre wondered if management was “hiding” the medical update on Cody Rhodes. Drew then reenacted the events of last week and said he wasn’t the bad guy, but if he’s provoked, he would take anyone out.

After that, The Street Profits and B-Fab were interviewed backstage. They were swiftly interrupted by Solo Sikoa and MFT, who said that the Profits would have to run through them if they wanted another shot at the tag titles. As the segment ended, one of the Wyatt Sicks appeared in the background.

DIY vs. Street Profits

The next match featured DIY with Candice LeRae, taking on The Street Profits with B-Fab. The Profits were in control when suddenly LeRae planted B-Fab’s face into the steel steps. LeRae then hit a rana on Montez Ford onto Angelo Dawkins behind the referee’s back. B-Fab then got retribution by taking out LeRae, and Street Profits hit From the Heavens for the win.

Backstage, the Motor City Machine Guns were speaking with Nick Aldis when Melo Don’t Miz interrupted. The two teams then started arguing. Aldis then made a match between the two for next week.

R-Truth was then interviewed backstage, and he said he was excited that everyone got their childhood hero back in John Cena. Aleister Black then interrupted, and Truth got in his face, and Black called him “Mr. Killings”. This led to a match being made for next week.

Sami Zayn was getting ready with Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu, and Fatu said he didn’t help Zayn; he was helping Jimmy. Zayn asked if they were cool, and Fatu told him to stay out of his way.

A video package aired of Logan Paul confronting John Cena last week, and the Boston crowd booed as a graphic appeared, stating “John Cena Returns Next Week.”

Main Event

The main event of SmackDown was Sami Zayn teaming with Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso to take on Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga. Or at least that’s what the graphic showed. As the match began, Talla was on the outside, and Tanga Loa was in the match instead. The match broke down by the end, with Jacob Fatu sending Talla Tonga over the announce table.

Meanwhile in the ring, Sami Zayn hit the Heullva Kick on Sikoa to pick up the win. Zayn and Jimmy Uso began to celebrate when Fatu paused. Finally, Fatu hugged Zayn, and all three raised their arms as the show went off the air.

Nothing of significance occurred on this show, and no real matches are worth revisiting. Melo Don’t Miz vs. Fraxiom was the best match of the night, but again, it was hampered by the story.
