A pinfall victory for the retiring Hiroshi Tanahashi closed out RevPro’s Global Wars UK card on Friday night in London, England.

In a match which represented all promotions involved with the Global Wars event, the team of Tanahashi, Katsuyori Shibata, Michael Oku, Mike Bailey and Zozaya defeated 1 Called Manders, Thomas Shire, Hechicero, Kyle Fletcher and Robbie X.

After a battle that went more than 20 minutes, including lightning-speed, multi-man exchanges in the ring, and a dive off the bleachers by Oku at one point, it was combination offense from Tanahashi and Shibata which closed out the show.

Shibata helped set up a Slingblade for Tanahashi onto Manders in the closing moments of the bout. After Shibata put Manders in a sleeper and hit him with a running PK, Tanahashi came off the top with a High Fly Flow for the pinfall win.

Tanahashi, who is in the final months of his career as an in-ring performer, addressed the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre crowd following the win.

The match was a return of sorts for Fletcher, who hadn’t appeared in RevPro since 2022, prior to his run in AEW, where he currently holds the TNT Championship.

The sole title change of the night saw Mercedes Moné win the Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women’s Championship against Emersyn Jayne. The nearly 20-minute bout was a title versus title fight, with Moné putting her RevPro title on the line in the contest.

The Young Guns (Ethan Allen and Luke Jacobs) retained their RevPro Undisputed British Tag Team Championships in a contest against former champs James Drake and Zack Gibson of the Grizzled Young Vets, a gruelling title bout that saw the defending champs mount a comeback.

An ROH angle played out as part of the show when Athena and Mina Shirakawa went face-to-face. After Athena won an impromptu match against Cut Throat Collective’s Mercedez Blaze, she continued to beat up her opponent to send a message to upcoming ROH title challenger Shirakawa. But Shirakawa made the save, a surprise appearance on the show.

RevPro will return on Saturday for the second night of anniversary action, including a title fight double main event. Nino Bryant will put his cruiserweight belt up against Robbie X, and Ricky Knight Jr. will look to retain his heavyweight gold against Sha Samuels. The lineup also features appearances from Moné, Leon Slater, Zack Sabre Jr., and the grand finals of the Great British Tag League.
