AEW Forbidden Door: Mercedes Moné survives four-way, earns roll-up to continue TBS Championship reign

Mercedes Moné snuck out of Sunday’s four-way match still holding the TBS Championship.

Moné reversed a Razor’s Edge attempt from Persephone at the 15-minute mark of a four-way bout, earning her a roll-up pinfall win to keep hold of the title. Challenging for the championship alongside Persephone were Alex Windsor and Bozilla as part of Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door card at The O2 in London, England.

The sneaky pinfall win for Moné continued a title reign which has stretched past 450 days. She has defended the title over a dozen times, including a pair of Forbidden Door cards. Her appearance at last year’s Forbidden Door saw her overcome Stephanie Vaquer, who has since joined the WWE roster.

Windsor, one of AEW’s most recent signings to the women’s division, earned a spot in the match by winning a four-way earlier this month on Dynamite. Windsor embraced the multi-woman spots in this match, scoring a four-woman superplex at one point, and locking in a double Sharpshooter later.

Bozilla, a 21-year-old star who has made a name for herself in Japan over the past couple of years, was making her AEW in-ring debut. Representing STARDOM, Bozilla came over to Forbidden Door just days after competing in the Joshi promotion’s 5Star Grand Prix tournament.

Bozilla came near a finish late in the match, scoring a moonsault out of the corner onto both Persephone and Windsor. A follow-up pin attempt was stopped by Moné.

Persephone has been showcased on ROH and AEW programs in the past, including a four-way bout at Supercard of Honor last month. She competed in this match as a representative for Mexico’s CMLL promotion.

Persephone had a major spotlight late in the match, hitting a Razor’s Edge onto the towering Bozilla.
