Hiromu Takahashi is the new GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion.

The opening night of NOAH’s N-1 Victory tournament featured a non-tournament bout as New Japan’s Hiromu Takahashi challenged YO-HEY for the title at Korakuen Hall.

The match began with a fast pace, with Takahashi threatening with the Time Bomb throughout the match.

The Time Bomb II was executed by the champion kicked out, and the audience loudly cheered for YO-HEY throughout the inter-promotional match.

Takahashi hit an Avalanche Time Bomb II off the second turnbuckle for another two-count. YO-HEY landed a Destroyer, but Takahashi came back, using the Hiromu Roll and transitioning to a modified form of the Time Bomb, which wasn’t identified with a name, and winning the title after seventeen minutes and forty-seven seconds.

NOAH junior heavyweights Junta Miyawaki, Daiki Odashima, and Atsushi Kotoge confronted Takahashi, who assumed they were volunteering to be his seconds, but they are defending NOAH.

The major challenge was issued by Eita, who came out last and appeared to be the first one to challenge Takahashi for his newly won belt.

Takahashi is a five-time IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title holder and four-time winner of the Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

YO-HEY won the title for the first time on May 3 from Eita.
