Former AEW World Champion MJF has picked up another acting credit.
Just weeks after the release of “Happy Gilmore 2,” in which the prominent AEW wrestler plays a role, a report from Deadline says he’ll also serve as part of the cast for “Violent Night 2.”
MJF will be seen in a film alongside social media star turned actor Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor, the report states. Neither of their roles has been specified just yet. David Harbour, who played Santa in the original “Violent Night,” is expected to return.
“Violent Night 2” is the follow-up to a 2022 film, where Santa Claus is tasked with saving a family from an “elite” group of “mercenaries.” Considering it’s a Christmas film, the sequel is unsurprisingly scheduled to be released by December 2026.
While MJF remains an active figure in AEW, recently challenging Hangman Adam Page for the world title at Forbidden Door, he’s no newcomer to other on-screen roles. Along with his aforementioned part in “Happy Gilmore 2,” he also had a brief cameo in the 2023 film “The Iron Claw,” and has a role in “Stranglehold,” an action film in post-production.
“Violent Night 2” is reportedly being shot in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, per Fightful Select. Recording for the film means that MJF will be all across North America in the coming weeks, heading to the U.S., Mexico, and Toronto for bookings while also frequently coming back to Winnipeg to continue shooting.
