Friday Night SmackDown will feature two championship matches and appearances by Brock Lesnar & Cody Rhodes before Wrestlepalooza

WWE has provided an updated set of announcements for SmackDown in Toledo, Ohio, which is set to include appearances by Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes.

Lesnar returned at SummerSlam amid criticism due to his name being included in the updated complaint filed by Janel Grant. The former WWE employee, Grant, accused Vince McMahon of sexual trafficking involving Lesnar. She also claimed that Lesnar requested and received sexually explicit material from Grant at the direction of McMahon.

Lesnar is not named as a defendant in the suit, but WWE shied away from using the performer since the initial complaint was filed in January 2024.

Since the surprise return, Lesnar has appeared on SmackDown over the past two weeks in Chicago and Norfolk. He will have his first match in over two years against John Cena to open the Wrestlepalooza show on Saturday in Indianapolis.

WWE is advertising an “exclusive interview” with Lesnar on tonight’s program.

Rhodes returned to WWE programming last week after finishing his role filming Street Fighter in Australia and will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza.

The remainder of SmackDown will include Carmelo Hayes challenging Sami Zayn in the latest U.S Title Open Challenge, and Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss will defend the women’s tag team titles against Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre.

Rewind-A-SmackDown with John Pollock & Wai Ting will be live at 10:05 p.m. ET tonight for POST Wrestling Café members
