Champion vs. Champion

Monday Night Raw from Evansville, Indiana, kicked off with Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, who showed off his inaugural Crown Jewel Championship ring. This brought out World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and The Vision, but no Becky Lynch. Rollins said he had Crown Jewel circled on the calendar ever since they both walked out of SummerSlam as champions.

Rhodes and Rollins discussed their shared history, and Rollins showcased a watch that Rhodes had given him at WrestleMania 40, stating that he hadn’t worn it once until tonight. Seth said that he was the future of WWE, not Cody. Cody retorted that they had three matches, and Cody had won all three.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso said he had asked for a rematch against The Brons tonight, but he found out that Jey Uso had already requested and received a match against LA Knight. Jey was pissed and said they had a lot to handle as soon as he took care of Knight.

No Disqualification Six-Man Tag Team Match

The first match of the evening was The New Day and Grayson Waller taking on Penta and The War Raiders in a No Disqualification match. The crowd was hot for this match as both teams scrambled to use weapons on each other. After an ad break, Kofi Kingston hit a leg drop off the top rope, putting Penta through a table on the floor. Penta hit an Avalanche Mexican Destroyer on Grayson Waller for the win.

Dominik Mysterio entered the Judgment Day’s clubhouse complaining about Rusev coming after his Intercontinental Championship. Finn Balor said he wouldn’t help him, and then Dom convinced JD McDonagh to help him, only to reveal he had already spoken with Adam Pearce and JD would be facing Rusev later tonight.

Elsewhere backstage, Bayley approached Lyra Valkyria, and Bayley didn’t remember screaming at her last week for entering her locker room. Bayley then asked Lyra to be in her corner tonight when she faces Roxanne Perez.

The New Women’s World Champion

Adam Pearce welcomed new Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer to the ring, and Vaquer cut a promo thanking the fans and calling her Father her hero. Pearce then announced that the winner of Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax this Friday on SmackDown would be her opponent at Crown Jewel.

Afterwards, backstage, Vaquer ran into Nikki Bella and Rhea Ripley, who congratulated her. The Kabuki Warriors interrupted and said Iyo Sky should still be champion. Ripley stepped up to Asuka, saying she was sick of her attitude and challenged her to a match tonight.

Bayley vs. Roxanne Perez

Next, Bayley, with Lyra Valkyria in her corner, took on Roxanne Perez. The announce team harped on the fact that Bayley might have some ring rust as she had been away from WWE for a little while. Perez focused on Bayley’s knee as the match went on, with Perez hitting a second attempt at Pop Rox on the floor. Raquel Rodriguez then got involved, attacking Bayley. Valkyria then threw Raquel into the post. Perez then attacked Valkyria, and Bayley hulked out, screaming and hitting the Bayley to Belly, the flying knee, and the Roseplant for the win. Valkyria celebrated with Bayley, but Bayley shoved her to the mat.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso ran into Cody Rhodes, and Rhodes asked about Jey. Jimmy said he wasn’t listening to him, but maybe he would listen to Cody. After a commercial break, Cody sat with Jey and told him that they all still believed in him. Jey’s eyes lingered on the WWE Undisputed title, and he said he was going to find his way back to the top.

Rusev vs. JD McDonagh

Next was Rusev taking on Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh with Dominik Mysterio on the outside. McDonagh was clearly upset with Dom for putting him in this position as Rusev yelled at Dom that he was next. McDonagh executed a few high-flying moves, but ultimately McDonagh tapped out from The Accolade. Dom was going to run in to help McDonagh, but stalled on the ring apron. Finn Balor then appeared, attacking Rusev and making the save for JD. Balor yelled at Mysterio as they left the ring.

Backstage, Iyo Sky told Asuka she didn’t need to face Rhea Ripley. Asuka said she didn’t want advice from a loser. Elsewhere backstage, LA Knight was asked about his referee style at Wrestlepalooza, and he said that it didn’t matter and he would hit Jey Uso with a BFT tonight.

Jey Uso vs. LA Knight

Next was the match that had been building for the last few weeks, with Jey Uso taking on LA Knight. Jey Uso showed a more aggressive side going into this match, even attempting to grab a handful of Knight’s tights to try to pick up the win. The Brons then appeared, and Knight fought them both off on his own, only to turn around and run into a spear by Jey, followed by the Uso Splash for the win. The Brons then went to attack LA Knight, and Jimmy ran down and tried to convince Jey to join him unsuccessfully. Paul Heyman talked the Brons out of their attack, and they backed down.

Becky Lynch was backstage with Seth Rollins, running down everyone in their way, and said she was going to make an example, grabbing her title and walking off without Seth saying a word.

Iyo Sky approached Rhea Ripley, asking her to call off her match with Asuka, but Ripley said no. Ripley advised Sky to be careful around Asuka, which upset Sky, as she considered Asuka family.

Announced for next week was the Intercontinental Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and Rusev, Bayley vs. Raquel Rodriguez, and The Usos vs The Brons in a Tornado Tag Team match.

A video package played for “Los Americanos,” which appears to be the team name for the three Grande Americanos.

Maxxine Dupri was begging Adam Pearce for a match, saying that she’s been training extremely hard. Pearce said to let him find the right opportunity, and he would let her know. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee then entered, complaining about Los Americanos and asking for and being granted a match against either of the two Americanos.

Asuka vs. Rhea Ripley

The main event of the evening was Rhea Ripley taking on Asuka. Asuka dominated the early portion of the match, focusing on Ripley’s knee. Ripley finally mounted a comeback, hitting a Razor’s Edge and a Shining Wizard to turn the tide. Ripley was then dumped to the outside, and Kairi Sane considered attacking her but ultimately stopped before interfering. Asuka took control back and then jumped off the second rope with Ripley countering with a drop kick in an impressive spot.

Kairi then attempted to hit Ripley with a spinning backfist, but Ripley caught it. Asuka went for the hip attack on Ripley but hit Sane instead. Ripley then rolled up Asuka for the win, but was immediately hit with the “poison mist” to the eyes. The Kabuki Warriors then started beating down Ripley when Iyo Sky ran down and begged them to stop. Asuka and Iyo hugged, but then Asuka hit Iyo with a spinning backfist. Asuka then ordered Kairi to attack Sky, and she obliged. The show ended with The Kabuki Warriors standing tall over the fallen Ripley and Sky.
