The Oracle, The Wise Man, or The Advocate

SmackDown from Orlando kicked off with Michael Cole welcoming Booker T to the broadcast booth after Corey Graves’ attack at the hands of Brock Lesnar last week. After a recap of Wrestlepalooza, Paul Heyman was in the ring and asked the crowd what they wanted to talk about. Heyman went through multiple options but ultimately landed on Brock Lesnar. Heyman mentioned the “rumors and conspiracy theories” surrounding Brock before being interrupted by Cody Rhodes. Rhodes asked if he was talking to “The Oracle”, “The Wise Man”, or “The Advocate”.

Heyman said that Brock wasn’t there tonight, but The Brons appeared and squared off with Cody. Cody said that Heyman would never be loyal to Breakker or Reed, and with that, the brawl ensued. The Brons quickly gained the numbers advantage when Randy Orton appeared to even up the odds. Orton picked up Cody’s title and held it longingly for just a second before handing it to Cody as the segment ended.

Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Match

The Street Profits were interviewed backstage and asked about the tension between them. Ford and Dawson waved off any issues as they went to the ring for their #1 Contenders Match against Melo Don’t Miz. Carmelo Hayes and The Miz seemed to be on the same page as the match began.

That is, until Hayes hit The First 48 and was going for Nothin’ But Net when Miz tagged himself in and the two started arguing. This allowed the Profits to take over and hit From the Heavens for the win. Carmelo Hayes was about to break up the pinfall but stopped himself. After the match, the Wyatt Sicks appeared ringside and stared at the Profits.

Jade Cargill was interviewed and stated that she was tired of Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax. Stephanie Vaquer interrupted, and Cargill said a storm would be coming for Vaquer at Crown Jewel.

Giula & James vs. Michin & B-Fab

Next up, Giulia teamed with her manager (?) Kiana James to take on Michin and B-Fab. The crowd was mostly dead for this match outside of a few spots.

Michin had Kiana James beat, but James raked her eyes and made the tag to Giulia. Giulia hit the Arrivederci and a Northern Lights Bomb for the win. Backstage, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss seemed impressed by Giulia and James when Sol Ruca and Zaria entered. Ruca and Zaria said they wanted a shot at their titles. Flair said they hadn’t earned it, and Bliss said they didn’t even look like a tag team and to get in line.

Das Boot

Next, Drew McIntyre hobbled down to the ring in a walking boot and cut a promo complaining about the result of his match with Cody Rhodes this past Saturday. Nick Aldis appeared and said that McIntyre was insane and the referee’s decision was final. Jacob Fatu then made his return and told Drew to “stop bitching”. The two went back and forth until Fatu pulled off his boot and laid him out.

Stephanie Vaquer approached Tiffany Stratton backstage and said they might meet at Crown Jewel. Stratton said that she respected Vaquer, but she would put her in the ground.

Sami Zayn thanked Rey Fenix for the match last week, and Fenix asked who was answering the challenge tonight. In the background, someone who looked like Shinsuke Nakamura crept by.

Another MFT promo aired with Solo Sikoa hyping up JC Mateo (even showing a photo with Jeff Cobb holding an ROH title). Matero declared his love for Solo, and even though Sikoa said he was alone last week, it appeared he was rebuilding, one week at a time.

United States Championship Open Challenge

Next was Sami Zayn’s weekly United States Open Challenge. Je’Von Evans answered the challenge, and it just so happened that his opponent for No Mercy tomorrow night was sitting ringside for this match. Evans had a great showing with the crowd getting behind him despite facing a fan favorite in Zayn.

Zayn set up for a Helluva Kick, but Evans countered and went for the double springboard corkscrew splash, but missed. Zayn then missed a Helluva Kick again. Evans hit an OG Cutter for a massive two count. Zayn finally connected with the Helluva Kick and Blue Thunder Bomb for the win.

Backstage, Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre offered Nia Jax a job in her administration, but Jax turned her down. Stephanie Vaquer appeared a third time and wished Jax luck. Nia Jax said she could drop her right no,w but she’d rather do it at Crown Jewel.

Damian Priest approached Kit Wilson backstage, who was in a wheelchair and a sling, and continued going on about toxic masculinity. Wilson then fell over his wheelchair, and Aleister Black appeared, hitting Priest with the Black Mass. Black wished Priest a happy birthday and walked off.

WWE Women’s Championship Triple Threat

The main event of the night was the triple threat match between Jade Cargill, Nia Jax, and Champion Tiffany Stratton. After a commercial break, Stratton went for a dive onto Jax on the outside but got caught up on the bottom rope and faceplanted on the floor. Stratton then hit a Swanton Bomb onto Jax, only to be superkicked by Cargill immediately. Stratton fell backwards onto Jax and almost scored the pinfall.

After another break, Stratton and Cargill double-teamed Jax, hitting a Superplex. Stratton then hit Jax with the PME, but Cargill broke up the count. Cargill then hit Jaded on Stratton, but Jax pulled the referee out of the ring. Jax then threw Jade into the ring steps, and Cargill was busted open above her eye.

Cargill then hit a Samoan Drop on Jax onto the stairs as the referee attempted to stop the bleeding. The match was off the rails at this point when Cargill hit Eye of the Storm on Jax, and Stratton appeared to be late on a dropkick to break up the pin. Stratton then covered Jax, but Jax did not kick out, and the referee did not count to three. Stratton then hit the PME on Jax for the win.

Stephanie Vaquer then walked out to have a staredown with Stratton as the show went off the air.
