Saya Kamitani added a second title to her collection on Saturday, defeating AZM to retain the World of STARDOM Championship and win the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.

The winner-take-all main event took place at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall.

Kamitani secured the victory after hitting AZM with her Star Crusher finisher. While AZM kicked out of the first attempt, she could not withstand a second, which led to the pinfall.

After the match, the winner of the 2025 5STAR GP, Momo Watanabe, confronted the new double champion. Watanabe issued a challenge for both titles, with the match now scheduled for the STARDOM Crimson Nightmare event on November 3.

The victory marked Kamitani’s sixth successful defense of the World of STARDOM title, which she won from Tam Nakano in December 2024. She is now the sixth wrestler to hold the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.

For AZM, the loss ends her title reign at 141 days. She originally won the championship from Mercedes Mone in a three-way match at NJPW Resurgence in May.

Other title-related developments occurred during the event. HANAKO defeated Hina to win the Future of STARDOM Championship. In addition, several future matches were established:

  • Hazuki will challenge Koguma for the CMLL Japan Women’s Championship on October 11.
  • Ami Sohrei and Lady C challenged Natsuko Tora and Ruaka for the Goddesses of STARDOM titles.
  • IWGP Women’s Champion Sareee responded to a challenge from Syuri, indicating she intends to defend the title overseas first.
