An injury has forced Lainey Reid out of her scheduled WWE Speed Women’s Championship match at Saturday’s NXT No Mercy premium live event.

Shawn Michaels announced in a video released just before the show that Reid was not medically cleared to compete.

According to Michaels, Reid sustained the injury during training on Friday night and was not cleared for the match. He confirmed that champion Sol Ruca will still defend the title at the event against an opponent to be revealed.

Reid had won a number-one contender’s tournament to secure her spot in the title match. She defeated AAA’s Faby Apache and then SmackDown’s Candice LeRae to earn the opportunity.
