The lawsuit filed by Nick Bollea against Bubba the Love Sponge appears to be reaching a settlement, per the latest court filing.

The defendants, Bubba the Love Spone and Woltz Films, filed a notice of resolution on Tuesday in U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, stating that the parties have agreed to a term sheet with settlement terms to resolve their dispute.

Bubba the Love Sponge Clem (Clem”) and Woltz Films, LLC (“Woltz”) (collectively, “Defendants”) hereby provide notice that the Parties have agreed upon a term sheet with settlement terms in an effort to resolve the dispute, globally, and are continuing with such discussions.  Upon the Parties’ execution of a written Settlement Agreement fully memorializing a resolution, the appropriate party shall file documents to dismiss this case.

Because the finalization of the settlement is not complete, the defendants are not opposing the plaintiffs’ previous request to extend the deadline to file an amended lawsuit.

Bollea and Terry McCoy filed a lawsuit last month and secured a temporary restraining order (TRO) regarding Woltz Films’ documentary, Video Killed The Radio Star: The Untold Story of the Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal.

It resulted in the filmmakers making a small edit before a screening last month in Tampa, but they went ahead and distributed the documentary on various digital platforms.

The plaintiffs argued that Bubba had committed copyright infringement, federal trademark infringement, and violated a 2012 settlement agreement with the late Terry Bollea.

The TRO was dissolved two weeks ago, but the case was not dismissed.
