Former AEW coach Sarah Stock has criticized a spot from the main event of Saturday’s AEW WrestleDream, warning that the angle could lead to children imitating it.
The “I Quit” match between Jon Moxley and Darby Allin concluded the pay-per-view. In the final sequence, Moxley and his associates, the Death Riders, brought an aquarium tank into the ring and filled it with water.
Moxley was shown seemingly attempting to waterboard Allin, repeatedly plunging his head under the water.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Stock voiced her strong objection to the spot:
You know who should stop this? Mothers. With their remote control. This is worse than the plastic bag over the head. Kids are going to end up dead trying this stuff at home. @aew https://t.co/DjCBNr4KiY

Stock, who also wrestled as Sarita and Dark Angel, joined AEW as a coach and producer in March 2023. She previously worked in a similar role for WWE from 2015 until 2020.
The aquarium spot led directly to the finish of the match. The lights went out, and Sting appeared, attacking the Death Riders and breaking the tank with his baseball bat. Sting’s interference allowed Allin to recover and force Moxley to quit.
John Pollock and Wai Ting discussed the match, including potential controversy over the water tank spot, at length during their review of AEW WrestleDream.
