The date for next year’s WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event (PLE) has been slightly changed.
Next year’s show at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, will take place on Sunday, September 6, the promotion announced this week.
The event, which was initially revealed five months ago, was previously planned to take place a week prior, on August 29. The show was given to the city after WWE shifted around their Wrestlemania plans, moving their top event away from New Orleans and instead giving it to Las Vegas.
WWE has since also unveiled their plan to host their 2027 Wrestlemania in Saudi Arabia, putting a potential Mania in New Orleans at least two years away.
WWE frequently visits New Orleans for TV tapings, most recently appearing at the Smoothie King Center in February for an episode of Smackdown. However, the city hasn’t seen a PPV/PLE in quite some time, with their last notable event being Wrestlemania 34 back in 2018.
The move to stage Money in the Bank during September puts the classic PLE later on the annual schedule than ever before. The event has typically taken place in June or July, and sometimes takes place as early as May.
