Saraya is getting the itch to wrestle again.
The former WWE and AEW talent said in a recent interview that she plans to resume wrestling training in early 2026, and that it could lead to an official in-ring return, depending on how things go.
Saraya spent all of 2025 away from in-ring action after wrapping up a three-year stint with AEW, where she attained a run with the Women’s World Championship.
She has spent the past year working on other opportunities in entertainment, including a new podcast, “Rulebreakers,” and publishing her memoir, Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives.
However, after that time away, Saraya says she’s interested in getting back into the ring. She explained in a recent interview with the Toronto Sun.
“I’ve had a wonderful year to kind of dip my toe into the outside wrestling world, and it’s been so wonderful and I’ve loved it and I have enjoyed it. But once you’re a wrestler, you’ll always miss it,” Saraya said. “I am starting to get the bug for it again. I went through a stage where I kind of fell out of love with it for a second. I’m just like, ‘I need to take a break from it,’ and that was the whole goal. But I’ve just found this new love for it again, and I’ve found this new passion for it again. I’m going to get into training again in January and we’ll see where that takes me.”
Saraya wants to hold her return to a high standard, noting that she would only return if she is at her absolute best.
“If I was to ever come back, I want to be at the top of my game and be wrestling better than back when I was in NXT,” she said. “That’s my goal.”
Saraya has previously described her exit from AEW in March as a “clean split,” mentioning that she left the promotion without any issues with them. She told Chris Van Vilet in July that, while she isn’t currently training, she’s open to any opportunities that might come her way.
“If the opportunity is there, I’ll take it,” she said earlier this year. “I won’t chase it too hard, because, again, I want to be focused on stuff outside of wrestling. I want to get into a bunch of different things. If the opportunity arises and I would get a call to be like, ‘Hey can you come in and do this?’ Sure.”
