The competitors in this year’s AEW Continental Classic have been revealed.
Returning for its third year, the 12-man tournament will kick off this Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite, then later culminate at the promotion’s Worlds End pay-per-view on December 27.
The tournament sees talent compete in either the Gold or Blue League, collecting points in round-robin play. The top two wrestlers in both Leagues face off in a “League Finals,” then the two surviving wrestlers will meet in the grand finals.
The Gold League will feature defending AEW Continental Champion and 2024 tournament winner Kazuchika Okada. Also in the bracket will be: Don Callis Family member and ex-TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey of JetSpeed, returning tournament competitor Darby Allin, and Death Riders member PAC.
The Blue League will include IWGP World Champion Konosuke Takeshita, former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, CMLL’s Mascara Dorada, The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy, and Paragon’s Roderick Strong.
As has been the case in past years, a win in League action earns a wrestler 3 points. A draw, if a match reaches its 20-minute time limit, earns each wrestler 1 point. And no schenanigans will be had, as no seconds are allowed at ringside for matches.
Here’s a list of both the league lineups, as well as a schedule for the shows, which will feature tournament bouts:
Gold League: Darby Allin, PAC, Kevin Knight, Mike Bailey, Kyle Fletcher, Kazuchika Okada
